My Daughter, Nessa, had experienced harsh exclusion from school (aged 5); as a result, she lost confidence in herself and most people around her. She closed in and got depressed, reported on various pains and aches, lost concentration and did not want to go to school. More so she was terrified of going to school. I felt I needed to help her, both for her and us as her parents. We heard of Kate as a therapist and visited her few times at the Subud centre. I was amazed how quickly Kate gained Nessa’s trust and how happy she was to go and allow me to leave her in the sessions in which she always seemed her old self at the send of them, happy excited and flowing.

Kate macairt has worked with two of our pupils over the past few months. Both children have been adopted and exhibit emotional difficulties despite the efforts of their adoptive parents. kate’s sessions have enabled them…. to explore feelings and begin to come to terms with their background. The impact in school is that …. is beginning to make real friendships with both boys and girls … she is far less impulsive …she is a much happier girl and is proud of her work and is more relaxed around school and her relationships with peers have improved.

Kate’s creative play therapy has had a very positive effect on the above children and we value her work enormously. There are many other children who would benefit from similar therapy but are unable to access it.

I have found the difference in my daughter since having Creative Support quite profound. I was concerned that a lack of self esteem would hinder the transition from primary to Secondary School. The sessions with Kate saw her grow in confidence and a strength of character emerge which I have no doubt enabled her to find her feet at secondary school. She is a happier more confident child. It is also really supportive for us both to know that if she needs a bit of extra support again , kate is there!
